PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

Co-ordinates operation and administration of planned maintenance systems and activities of maintenance planners/inspectors. Responsible for controlling statutory inspections and keeping all legal records in connection with the machinery and Occupational Safety Act. Communicates, coordinates and manages all maintenance events at the mine. The individual is responsible for the total material management functions through forecasting and managing the maintenance budget as well as coordinating resources. Custodian of the asset management system of Tshipi Borwa Mine. 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

The role is responsible for:

 

·        Minimization of down time due to innovative planning.

·        Communicating accurate maintenance events to all parties.

·        Compile shut down planned network (activities, resources and time).

·        Materials availability needed for all maintenance (acquisition, availability).

·        Compile and do long-term material and component forecast;

·        RWM (Routine work management);

·        On-KEY System;

·        Recondition able spares management.

·        Total materials management functions (budget quotes, orders);

·        Management of planning office data flow.

·        Compile planned maintenance tasks.

·        Supporting the team during shutdowns.

·        Coordination of resources.

·        Liaising with foreman and artisans.

·        Extract information, component forecasts, compile and managing maintenance budgets.

·        Financial, maintenance and production performance reporting and trending;

·        Component history and logbook management.

·        Supporting audit process and supply for sub-store stock.

·        Perform root cause analysis on recurring breakdowns or unplanned stops of machinery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

·        Matric (Grade 12) NQF level 4

·        Artisan Trade Test Certificate will be advantageous

·        Diploma/NQF level 6 in Maintenance Management will be preferred

·        Computer literate (Microsoft office suite certificate)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED 

 

Up to 5 years of experience as a maintenance planner
